The City of Victorville, also known as the "Key City of the High Desert" is located in San Bernardino

County´s Victor Valley of the State of California. It lies on the southern border of the Mojave Desert and is traversed by the Mojave River. Centrally situated to many other cities and attractions in California, Victorville serves as a popular resting point for travelers offering delicious eateries, shopping areas and comfortable lodging. Given the fact that Victorville´s elevation is 2,875 ft above sea level, its environment is high desert climate which offers a sampling of all seasons, from snow in the wintertime to flowers blooming in the spring to warm sunshine during the summer months and low humidity throughout the year.

Working as the GM of the California Southern Railway, he assisted in the creation of a Pacific Coast terminal for the Santa Fe Route. Once known as Victor, the town was renamed Victorville in 1895 by the U.S. Post Office because of mail delivery conflict with another town named Victor in the state of Colorado.

 

The City of Victorville has mainly been a commuter town serving the Ontario and San Gabriel Valley business districts. Simultaneously, the expansion of the community and industrialization efforts has boosted employment in Victorville, making this historic town not only a great place to visit but also a great place to call home.

 


VICTORVILLE ATTRACTIONS

A must-see attraction in Old Town Victorville is the memorable Route 66 Museum. Aptly located on Route 66, it offers a compilation of historic relics and prints associated to Route 66 and the neighborhoods that lie alongside it.

 

Another local favorite is The San Bernardino County Fair which occurs each spring in Victorville. If features fun rides, farm animal contests, a variety of exhibitions, a rodeo, a demolition derby and performances to the city. 

 

Shopping opportunities abound in Victorville, especially at The Mall of Victor Valley located near I-15. It features one hundred specialty

stores, four department stores, delicious eateries and a movie theatre.
